2010 News

Once again, a huge thank you to all who supported the 5K Run on October 9th. Mike Remshard and his committee members trul appreciate te support the community continues to show. Again, due to financial constraints imposed by the City on us, the event was a block party on "Two Street". The musical entertianment, Duffy & Muller, Jack Tammaney and Touché were entertaining and well received. The Callan Brothers and the Team Tatreau race team provided all the race equipment used to stage the 5K Run and Walk. And special thanks to Tim McGinn for coordinating all of the poilice needed for the event.

A special thank you to Father Robert Feeney, the pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, whose opening prayer and kind words about the "Two Street" community were appreciated by all.

The Mummers Cup returns to Froggy Carr NYA behind the efforts of Jimmy Barnes, Michael Branch and Charlie Marvel and the Two Street Irish Society won the open team competition. Special kudos to Pat Craven who trimmed over 6 minutes off of his 2009 time.

2009 News

Thank you to all who supported the 5K Run in a transition year . Please know that we will work to expand next years event to make this day a memorable one for the community. The financial constraints imposed on us by the City caused this day to be, basically a mini-event. We hope you all will to continue to support our efforts in the future as we now look to broaden our scope . Please know that the "Two Street Community " remains our focus!!!

2008 News

Congratulations to Michael Dalgeaun, this years overall winner, with a time of 16.13 minutes. His time bested last years best time by 34 seconds. Special kudos to Trish Furman, the overall top female finisher with a time of 21.31 minutes. Sh bested her 2007 overall best time by 1.26 minutes !!!

Special Notes

The Mummers Cup will take a short trip up "2" Street to Froggy Carr N.Y.B. who bested defending champs Satin Slipper in this years run.

Also, in the Male 19 and under class, Anthony Ragno improved his time by 36 seconds from last years run to break the 19 minute mark.

Archdiocesan Challenge

It was a greatly contested finish but Fr. Kevin McGoldrick, competing in his first Two Street Run, narrowly edged out Msgr. Daniel Sullival and Fr. Mike Sheehan. Msgr. Sullivan is claiming victory based on the fact that he was helping Fr. Sheehan, recovering from hip surgery, through the course. Next years rematch should be highly competative!!! There is a strong rumor that Fr. William Kaufmann of St Richards will enter the fray next year.

Special thanks to those members of Team Tatreau, though short handed, set up and knocked down the race in record time with the help of members of the Second Street Irish Society.

To Chris Tatreau, Joe Callan, Charlie Callan, Fran Callan, Karen Walls, Bonnie Close, Joe Lutz and Lt. Tim McGinn, as usual, not enough can be said to convey our appreciation and we look forward to working with you again next year.

Kathy Hewitt and her little band of "chicks" overcame the location change and the kids fun day was perfect as usual.

Lastly, John Brennan and Brian Stevenson wishes to thank this years event coordinator, Mike Remshard, for a great job.
